Private Symptom Journal (Android app) · Effective October 11, 2026

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Merroway Group handles information in Private Symptom Journal. The app is designed to keep journal content local to your device.

In short: your journal entries are stored on your phone. Merroway Group does not receive them. The app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. If you choose Google Drive backup, your backup goes to your own Google account. Google Play and RevenueCat process subscriptions.

1. What the app stores

The app may store symptoms you log, with severity, time, and optional notes; items you log such as foods, stress, sleep, activities, or other factors; and settings such as your reminder time. This data is saved in a private database on your device and is excluded from Android automatic cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.

2. When data leaves your device

  1. Exports. If you export a backup file, CSV, or PDF report, it is saved where you choose. You control who receives or can access that file.
  2. Google Drive backup. If you turn on Google Drive backup as a Pro subscriber, the app sends a backup file to a hidden app-data folder in your own Google Drive account using Google’s drive.appdata permission. Merroway Group cannot see or access that file. Google’s privacy policy applies to Google Drive.
  3. Subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Google Play. RevenueCat is used to confirm whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase information needed for subscription verification; it does not receive your journal entries. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

3. Permissions

The app does not use your location, contacts, camera, or microphone. It does not show ads and does not use advertising identifiers, analytics, or crash-reporting services.

4. Health information

The app is a personal log. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. Patterns shown by the app only describe what you logged together and do not establish a cause. Speak with a qualified health professional about your health.

5. Your choices and deletion

6. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age in your country, and Merroway Group does not knowingly collect children’s data.

7. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. For privacy, backup, export, or purchase-restoration questions, contact [email protected]. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, or emergency medical information by email.
